Flexibility to do adjustments and manual matching across custodians

Under System ->Configuration there is a setting ‘Should split working / fee accounts by custodian?’. This leads to the system automatically creating fee portfolios and working portfolios for each custodian.

When this is checked and you want to do an adjustment from a specific account, then the search results are limited to working portfolios and fee portfolios where the product of each has the same custodian as the instrument account’s custodian from where you are doing an adjustment. Since adjustments don’t force you to do a money transfer and when adjusting between different custodians could imply that a money transfer is required.

This setting can be unchecked when you need to do a manual match of bank entries and adjustments to working – and fee portfolios across different custodians.

On searching for the investment portfolio to move/adjust to, working – and fee portfolios of all custodians will be displayed as an option to select from (if the above has been unchecked):

The system will keep track of the custodian owner for the cash/units by creating an instrument account for the custodian on the portfolio to which the match or adjustment has been done.
