View and add instruments available for selection by members
There is a hierarchy of levels at which an instrument should be made available, in order for the instrument to be available on a member’s instruction, namely:
Product
Select the product: System -> Product -> select the relevant Product link.
Select Available Instruments under More Actions.
If an instrument is not in the list of Instrument names and needs to be added, select the Add Instrument button.
Then select the Link next to the instrument to be added.
Brokerage
If there is an adviser linked to the member’s account, then the instrument would need to be available on the adviser’s Brokerage.
Select Advisers -> Brokerage -> select the link to the specific Brokerage -> select the Available Instruments button under More Actions
If an instrument is not in the list of Instrument names and needs to be added, select the Add Instrument button.
Then select the Link next to the instrument to be added.
Adviser
To see if an adviser is linked to a specific account, open the investor account view and check on the adviser card.
If an adviser is linked, the Adviser’s name and code will be displayed as a link, otherwise the text: No adviser will be displayed.
To see the list of available instruments on an Adviser, select the Adviser link on the investor account or access the Adviser through the Advisers main menu and select the Available Instruments button.
If an instrument is not in the list of Instrument names and needs to be added, select the Add Instrument button.
Then select the Link next to the instrument to be added.
Employer
The instruments that are available on a member’s group, will also determine which ones are available on the member accounts.
To see the list of available instruments on an Employer (group), open the Employer’s detail view and select the Available Instruments button.
If an instrument is not in the list of Instrument names and needs to be added, select the Add Instrument button.
Then select the Link next to the instrument to be added.
Selecting an Instrument on a member’s instruction
If an instrument is available on all 4 of the above levels, then the instrument will be available on the member’s instruction and will be displayed in the drop down list of available instruments to select from. If the list of available instruments is limited, the instruments will all be displayed without a drop down list.
