SARS PAYE Recon File

• This is the second phase of implementing the functionality to generate a SARS PAYE recon file for employers.
• As per the SARS Business Requirement Specification (BRS) some of the fields are Mandatory Fields, fields that must be completed, as a rule, permitting no option and therefore not to be disregarded.
• Although these fields might not be “Mandatory Fields” in our system and hence might not be populated by default. During the file generation process, you will be prompted for the required fields to ensure compliance with the SARS BRS.
• The majority of the field will be with regards to Information related to a Person or a Company, to view or edit information on either one of these two, follow these links

• SARS BRS Codes included are the following:
  • 3601 – Income (PAYE)
  • 3603 – Pension (PAYE)
  • 3610 – Annuity from a RAF (PAYE)
  • 3618 – Annuity from a Provident/Provident Preservation Fund (PAYE)
  • 4102 – Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE)
  • 3915 – Retirement Fund Lump Sum Benefit On/After 1 October 2007. See link for more detail

• SARS BRS Codes currently NOT INCLUDED

• • 3920 – Retirement Fund Lump Sum Withdrawal Benefit
  • 4115 – Tax on Retirement Fund Lump Sum Benefit (Retirement/Death)
• To include or exclude certain transactions refer to Income Tax Certificates – Include or Exclude Certain Transactions
• To set the Source of funds with regards to the SARS source codes (3601, 3603, 3610 & 3618) refer to Source of Funds

Generate – Income Tax File

To access the Income Tax File select (1) Bulk Processes and then (2) Certificates – Income Tax

Options

• Product – Select a Product, the Income Tax File is created per product
• From date – Select the From date for the date range
• To date – Select the To date for the date range

Complete to options and select the Search button

Select (1) More Actions and then (2) Generate SARS PAYE File

If all the Mandatory Fields are populated the system will prompt you to save the file

If the Mandatory Fields are not populated or correctly validated a list will be displayed, by selecting an item you will be routed to the relevant information source

To access the previous Income Tax File select (1) SARS PAYE File History

A list of the SARS IRP5 Files will be displayed

Options

• (1) – FILENAME – This link will allow you to download the file again
• (2) – DETAILS – This link will open the SARS EMP501 Declaration File Details page

DETAILS

By (1) Selecting one of the lines the SARS EMP501 Line Details will be displayed with the Source Code and Name
