Automatically Email Brokerage Fee Statements

Brokerage Fee Statements can now be emailed automatically using a scheduled job (54022). See link

General (Includes Reports, Processes, Message Changes & Validation improvements)

  • Functionality has been added to display branding on tax certificates per brokerage (53775) See link
  • You can now specify the allocation per pot when doing a Cash Transfer in to accommodate varying pot allocations during a Sectional Transfer (54016), see link.
  • You can now send Multiple Dealer Instructions at once to Finswitch, as a LISP (Transaction Requests) when creating Dealer Instructions (54019), see link.
  • You can give someone View Everything or Edit Everything Permissions, which will allow them to view and/or edit everything, within a menu/function they already have access to. (53962). See link.
  • Changed the currency sign from ZAR to R on the Finswitch confirmation file (53898)
  • After a withdrawal is completed, you can edit the PAYE tax directive number and PAYE tax directive issue date and then the updated data will reflect in a newly generated IRP5 SARS file (54048).
  • You can define a frequency at which brokerages (and their Advisors) must be paid at, see link (53581)
  • We’ve built Asset Allocation Reports at Instrument, Contract and Product level which can be found on the main Reports menu. On the Contract level we’ve also included “Is Reg 28 compliant” if the product is setup for regulation 28 compliance then we will indicate whether the contract is compliant or not. (54084)
  • The “BND” Report has been changed to Beneficial Interest Register, plus the option to specify on an instrument and when generating the report, whether it’s for a Bond or a Share(53779). See link
  • The Beneficial Interest Register (previously BND report) can now be downloaded as a CSV file to enable data analysis.(53859)
  • Added a validation on trade confirmation, finswitch import of “rejected” trades will now not be imported and will show as rejected. (53778)
  • The default when creating new users, will now always be to set them as External users instead of Internal. (53911)
  • We’ve added the ability to add the contents of a Policy Document into a statement, in statement defaults, which can be switched on or off (54015)
  • Improve Retry Failures on Automatic Email Statements Jobs, see link (53763) (53995)
  • Added popup warning message on 100% withdrawals where buy instructions are in progress and therefore last accrued fees will not be taken on the 100% withdrawal and improve the handling of 100% withdrawals where there are negative holdings in an instrument. See NOTE and C on link (53694)
  • You can now choose whether password protection is done on brokerage fee statements or not, and more detailed options regarding the password used. (54080) See link
  • Functionality has been added that Finworks user access to testing environments (database and UI) is to only be done with individual valid production users and no system generic user (53696).
  • When defining Fee Sharing, you can now specify the recipient as a Broker, Brokerage or Distributor, instead of specifying the fee portfolio, then the system will determine the appropriate fee portfolio (53777). See link
  • If the instrument to phase in from is not a cash instrument on a recurring switch, the final recurring switch’s sell leg will be changed in the system to a 100% unit sell to clear the instrument holdings (54098).
  • Issue resolved where instrument type changes were inconsistently permitted. Users can now change a share to a unitized instrument only when the instrument has not been traded in the system. Instrument type changes between other valid combinations are also supported, provided the instrument has no prior trades (53732) See link
  • Recurring instruction types have been excluded from the duplicate instruction validations that route to Pending Authorisation state (54202).
  • If a fee run is created by a user with insufficient permissions to create switches, the fee run will stop before the automatic creation of switches and a warning will be displayed on the screen to indicate this (54133). See link
  • Added audit data functionality to system jobs , showing historical changes made on jobs. (54057)
  • The Automatic creation of investment instructions based on a bank entry, will now consider the minimum investment amount on the product before creating an instruction, see link (54002).
  • Added the column “Company Linked to Contact Person” to the “Entities Roll Report” to show on which company the person is a contact. (53662)
  • Added substitute ‘Transaction fee’ (which is a withdrawal fee) to the Surrender letter template. See link (53912)
  • Updates to Bulk Overview screen include displaying the name of the consultant assigned to the instruction workflow, and displaying the contract number, or entity name if no contract number has been assigned, on the document upload screen via the ‘upload’ link from the Bulk Overview screen, see link (54020)
  • Additional functionality added to MFA multiple in-session attempts at an MFA token session reset level (5858)
  • Improved user registration email by referencing the configuration in the contents of the message (53842)
  • Ensured internet searches on a specific configuration does not display the finworks login as an option (54165).
  • Added functionality to continue the processing of a fee run if the process has been interrupted (this is indicated by the status remaining on ‘processing’ for an extended time). A ‘Continue fee processing’ button will be displayed on the Fee run screen for users with the relevant permissions, see link (54203).
  • Exclude withdrawals created with the ‘Automatic Payment of fees job’ from requiring secondary authorisation. See NOTE in link (54129)
  • Changed debit order batch statuses to be more descriptive. See link (54286)
  • Unit, amount, and price correlation tolerance can be specified via system – configuration. See link (54028)

  • The ability to automatically upload Debit Order Collection files to and download Debit Order Confirmation files from Natwest, see link. (53939)
  • We’ve added a new Contributions array to the Get Instructions call in the Accounts API, the old one will be deprecated in the next release. The new one has more detailed Price, Units and Amount objects. (53874).
  • We’ve added Pagination and Sorting on the Advisor API; advisor client details and brokerage client details(53823).
  • We’ve added the ability to add/change an advisor’s mandate on a contract using the Update Account Details call, and also the ability to fetch an existing mandate (Accounts API)(53828).
  • “Buys” value may be submitted as a string or number on Create Investment and Update Recurring Investment (Accounts API)(53669)
  • “Gains/Loss” returned on Transactions for Period call on Accounts API (53908)
  • We’ve added IRR since inception to the Advisor API; advisor client details and brokerage client details (53823).
  • You can set initial fees to be amortised when creating an investment in the Accounts API (53828).
  • You can provide a work email address when creating a person (Entities API) or when creating account and person (Accounts API). And it can also be retrieved in get entities (Entities API) (53828).
  • You can provide a Life Assured when creating an account, creating account and person, when updating account details and when fetching account details (Accounts API) (53828).
  • You can provide the address of a person’s or company’s banking details when creating a person or company, and you can also retrieve this information. (Entities API)(53828).
  • You can provide Cash Provision and Low Cash Provision when creating an account and also retrieve this information (Accounts API)(53828).
  • You can provide a Policy Number when creating an account, and you can also retrieve this information (Accounts API)(53828).
  • You can setup fee sharing when creating an account and you can also retrieve this information (Accounts API)(53828).

Bug Fixes

  • Increased statement font size across all configurations, unless there have been recent requests to do otherwise (53970).
  • Titles on System -> Titles weren’t showing on the front-end, this has been rectified (54008)
  • In the Create Account, Create Account and Person, and Create Account and Company, we will no longer create a contract if the contract number provided already exists on the system (53833) and (53555).
  • Navigation issues from the Advisors -> Financial Advisors page has been fixed to correctly navigate to the Advisor’s or Brokerage’s landing page (53954).
  • Error resolved when attempting to process a Change of Ownership to the same Entity (53760)
  • When automatically matching bank transactions, logic to consider exact matches on employer contributions in the correct status only (53922)
  • Error resolved whereby member application review email to Advisor is sent multiple times when new members are added to an employer group, the Advisor now receives the application links in a single email (53918)
  • Ensured only one successful login email is send out per login with 2FA enabled (53854)
  • Incompatible amounts error resolved when generating interest and dividends certificate SARS file (53947)

  • A fix was done for Fundamental Daily Yield import job which permanently prevents a certain error (53974).
  • An error in Fundamental Real time Import Job not understanding certain messages corrected (53967).
  • An error on  “Instructions where cash sells can proceed” has been corrected (54251).
  • Refactored the “Automatic Email Statements Job” so that it does not create errors when other tasks send out emails while the job is running. (53592)
  • Error resolved on Users> Historical Changes Report where multiple users are running the same report at the same time (53838)
  • When Changing a Company to a Person, error removing associated roles has been resolved (53503)
